Bread manufactory "Das Brot."
Healthy, tasty and hand-made
From crispy rolls and fragrant wheat-free breads to fresh sheet cake, coffee specialities and a variety of quick snacks: our manufactory is where we carry on the tradition of handcrafted baking.
HIGH-QUALITY RAW MATERIALS AND SKILLED CRAFTMANSHIP
From self-raised sourdough to crispy bread baked in a stone oven, everything produced in the Autostadt manufactory is made by hand. When you come to the bakery shop to buy bread and rolls you can watch the bakers at work behind a glass wall. The tradition of artisan baking is key for "Das Brot." All baked goods are produced according to the highest certified standards. A complete declaration of all ingredients is provided with every loaf. Cash register receipts list all of the raw materials used for each product.
GRAIN FOR EVERY TASTE - AND GLUTEN FREE
The products sold in "Das Brot." include baked goods from different grain varieties, such as light grain rye and spelt. Along with Swiss "Bürli", the selection ranges from Swabian caraway bread to croissants, whole grain and spelt rolls. For customers who prefer to eat gluten free, a special bakery was set up in the CustomerCenter where gluten-free products are made from rice and browntop millet. These products are packaged separately to ensure they do not come in contact with other flours.
FROM A HEARTY BREAKFAST TO A QUICK SANDWICH
All baked goods from the Autostadt bread manufactory are sold over the counter in the newly designed bakery shop where there is also a long wooden table. In the morning you can choose from sweet or savoury breakfasts, or try a classic slice of buttered bread, a sandwich, or toast with freshly-made seasonal spreads. Coffee specialities and traditional products ranging from layered cheese to smoked ham are served along with a soup of the day.
Tip: If you want to buy bread and rolls to take home, you can park for free in the short term parking lot next to the service building. Simply mention "Das Brot." to the attendant at the car park entrance and you will be given a chip that can be exchanged for a valid parking ticket when you buy bread.
