Conditions for visiting the Autostadt
You will be admitted only if you can present an official document proving that you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, proof that you are fully recovered from Covid-19 (patients are considered recovered from a Covid infection at least 28 days and a maximum of six months after falling ill), a valid negative rapid antigen test (from a public testing station, valid for a maximum of 24 hours) or a PCR test (valid for a maximum of 48 hours). This also applies if you are collecting a vehicle. You can get a free rapid antigen test seven days a week at the Ruhrmedic drive-in test centre in the Autostadt grounds, for example.
We will check the proof of vaccination, test results or proof of recovery of all visitors from the age of seven upwards at the Autostadt entrances or along the routes leading to these entrances seven days a week from 7.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. to ensure compliance with the German government's so-called "3G" rule. Following the presentation and verification of your proof, you will be given a wristband, which you need in order to be admitted to the Autostadt. Please show your wristband to our staff at the check-ins in all buildings and also when visiting a restaurant. If you are visiting our bakery "Das Brot" to buy something to take away without actually visiting the Autostadt, you may do so without having to present one of the forms of "3G" proof.
The Ruhrmedic drive-in test centre in the Autostadt grounds offers both free rapid antigen tests as well as PCR tests, for which there is a charge. Proof of a negative test result can be presented, for example, in the form of a confirmation via the ePassGo app, the Corona-Warn-App or a printed confirmation dated the same day. This proof must be presented at the Autostadt entrances (Piazza and Parkstrasse).
Registration with the e-guest app
For digital contact tracing purposes, all visitors must also register with the Autostadt's e-guest app in order to be able to check in and out via this app whenever you enter a building or area at the Autostadt. These buildings and areas include the shops, the outdoor hospitality facilities like concerts, the Autostadt Restaurants as well as The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg and conferences. Once you are at the Autostadt, you can check in with the e-guest app directly by the entrance to the respective building/area by scanning in a QR code. When you leave a building or area, you simply click on "check out" in the e-guest app.
It's a good idea to conveniently download the app at home, and to register before setting off on your visit to the Autostadt. You must enter all of your personal details such as your name, address and your email address to register, and also create a password to log in. However, these details can be accessed only by the respectively responsible local health authority in the event of an infection. Using the app will not compromise your data privacy.
You are currently not legally required to wear a medical grade face mask in the outdoor areas of the Autostadt. This applies to the outdoor areas in the park as well as the StadtBrücke, the car parks and the walk from the short-stay car park at the ServiceHaus to the GroupForum. However, this does not apply at the promotional stalls, where face coverings must still be worn, unless the social distancing requirement of 1.5 metres can be maintained.
A medical grade face mask (surgical mask, or a face mask that meets the KN95/N95 or FFP2 standards) must also still be worn by all customers, visitors and staff inside all Autostadt buildings.
Please note: You may still visit the Autostadt if you are not legally required to wear a face covering, provided you can present an official face covering exemption document.
